About our Centre
Elias Abacus STEM Academy is an Abacus Mental Arithmetic and STEM education company in Sydney, Australia. We are operating in Hurstville (main school), Campsie and Burwood.
We have classes:
1. Abacus Mental Arithmetic for 4.5 to 10 years old from Beginner to Advanced Levels.
2. STEM program for Kindy to Year 6. Our students are participating in the CREST Awards which is hosted by the British Science Association (BSA).
Our Centre is also providing the below services:
1. The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce (TCOC) International Certificate of Abacus & Mental Calculation Ability Exams (ISO 9001:2015) in March and October every year.
2. The World City Cup (Abacus, Mental Arithmetic and Mathematics) Competition - we accompany those outstanding students to overseas to participate in this International competition
Our Founder :
Victor Yu BSc (Hon), UK
Victor completed his BSc (Hon.) degree in the University of Northumbria at Newcastle (UK), majoring in Applied Chemistry and Applied Biochemistry.
In the end of 2006, Victor completed the Professional Abacus Mental Arithmetic teacher training at International Abacus & Mental Hong Kong Development (IAMDHK). Then, he has taken the World Association of Abacus & Mental Arithmetic (WAAMA, Beijing) "世界珠算心算聯合會" Rating Apprasial Test and obtained Mental Arithmetic certificate in 2007.
After Victor obtained his qualification at IAMDHK, he started teaching children abacus classes at the Sheung Wan Baptist Church – Saturday Children programs.
At the end of 2008, he moved to Sydney and he teaches children abacus classes around Hurstville until now.
In November 2017, Victor became an Executive Member of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce - Abacus & Mental Calculation and Maths Committee.
In 2018, Victor has completed his certificate in Maths Whole Brain Teacher Training in Taiwan.
In 2020, Victor has been elected as the Board of Directors in the Chinese GLOBAL Lifelong Intelligent Education Research Association.
In 2023, Victor has graduated as a US STEM.org Certified Educational Instructor.
